Despite the very short submission period, we received so many excellent entries that the contest organizers had a long, hard time choosing the nominees below. All the nominees left a strong impression on us--some of them even left us wondering, "how did they do that?" Among the nominated entries, there were some beautiful entries that were not quite in the "holiday season" image that contest organizers had in mind. Balancing the "holiday spirit" with "artistic quality" and "originality," a wide range of nominees were chosen for the judges to vote on. In the end, however, entries that expressed the contest's original concept of "holiday season greeting card" in the most artistic and original manner were the most popular with judges, and coincidentally, all these entries were Christmas-related cards.
We will be adding comments by the artists in the near future, so be sure to come back for their tips and advice!

However, we were glad to learn that "holiday season" meant not only Christmas, but New Year's, Valentine's Day, and also non-specific themes like "wintertime", "summertime", "togetherness", "love", "childhood memories", and much more. This shows the international spirit of the Asia Pacific community and the creativity of artists!! Thank you all for your amazing, inspirational and funny submissions!!

Unfortunately, we couldn't award prizes to all the excellent entries, but Wacom Asia Pacific plans to have more contest and events in 2006. We hope that you will all participate again and help us to create a truly international Wacom Asia Pacific community.
Happy Holidays!

Comment from Wacom:
As the background music and adorable characters warmly celebrate Christmas, viewers can decorate a Christmas tree with beautiful ornaments. Because there were not many cards with interactive features this time, this card stood out and left a strong impression. However, the "happy" feeling and mood of the card over all was the real reason that support for the card was strong at Wacom.

Wacom holiday season e-greeting card contest -coolest still image-
Comment from Wacom:
Delicately beautiful, yet simple and cute. Everyone at Wacom was drawn to the warm, innocent eyes. The details showing that the character was a delivering a present were almost lost in the beauty of the drawing, so when you do notice the earpiece, the "Santa's express" hat, and the present, they are a wonderful surprise.

Comment from Wacom:
This prize was so outstanding that it was actually a contender for the Grand Prize as well. The opening scene makes you wonder with excitement at what kind of world the window will show you. The artistry of the fairytale world that you enter into is enhanced by the hand-drawn style of the thick but gentle lines. The simplicity of the artwork brings a nostalgic feeling that truly captures the "holiday spirit."

Wacom holiday season e-greeting card contest -funniest still image-
Comment from Wacom:
Although a still image without any explanation, in one glance you can see a funny story unfolding. In the innocent child's facial expression, the hint of mischievousness reminds us all of our own childhood. Santa must be rolling on the floor with laughter at this ironic vision of his yearly visit. Brilliant!

Comment from Wacom:
A funny story with a warm message, this card makes you feel as if you yourself was saved by the Christmas spirit. The singing sheep and the black sheep prancing around trying his best to fit in was so very cute! The flying turkey and cow made us jump out of our seat with laughter, and in the end, this black sheep found that he was loved by everyone here at Wacom.
