We selected the nominees purely based on the artwork itself, how striking they were, how original they were, how evil they looked...we were surprised to discover that many of these "villains" were actually meant to be heroes! Q1. Tell us about your winning artwork. Where did the idea come from?

Actually the idea came from my everyday life what I see and what I feel from my surroundings. I made hercules as a protector of the weak. As you can see now, in our world there are many injust actions and I made this mobile suit just to restore the balance, nothing more.

Q3. Who are your favorite artists recently? Who do you want to work with?
Recently I like the artwork from momorobo, camilla d'errico and taizan. I really want to work with Yoji Shinkawa, the illustrator from the Metal Gear Solid sequel (his pieces are awesome!).

Q1. Tell us about your winning artwork. Where did the idea come from?

The idea for Cylphion KinSora hmmm... well... I watch and play a lot of robot series starting from all Gundam series, Macross series, Voltus V, GodZigma, GoShogun, and so on. Then I've even play almost all Super Robot Taisen Series just to be nostalgic with them. Armored Core and Front Mission also. They all have great concepts, great designs, and great stories. So, I try to made my own story, my own real robot type which, like Gundam or Macross type (not like Voltus or GaiKing), has real possible movement and joints. I learnt a lot from the model kits though. I even have a dream that someday my mecha designs will become one of the Master Grade model kit series ^_^. Cylphion name came from the word Sylph which in mythological story known as God of Wind or Wind Elemental. KinSora means Golden Sky, so it describes clearly that it can fly and is agile.

Q2. Which mobile suit character do you like the most?
If you say Mobile Suit then it should be in Gundam Series right? It will be Nu Gundam in Gundam Evolve 5. It has a better detail on its design than its first appearance in Char's Counterattack the movie...besides, it has the great story behind it. It's a Legend ^_^.

Q3. Who are your favorite artists recently? Who do you want to work with?
Mr. Kunio Okawara, Mr. Shoji Kawamori, and Mr. Hajime Katoki. It's really a great honour to work with them.

Just as the name implied, the concept of my mobile suit character, "Fire Rescue MS" came from fire fighters and fire engine. This fire rescue mobile suit is used for dangerous rescue missions. It can withstand tons of pressure and heat. Its left hand is equipped with a fire extinguisher, while the right hand is inter-changeable with various rescue tools.

When we think of the word "mobile suit", we usually would relate to Gundams and war. Rather than designing a mobile suit that aids war and brings destruction, I decided to do something different, that is to design a MS that could save lives.

Q2. Which mobile suit character do you like the most?
Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed. Because she can sing and has a pink halo! :D

Q3. Who are your favorite artists recently? Who do you want to work with?
My favourite artists are Ito Noizi-sensei, Chou-Niku, Artgerm, and Fengzhu. I would love to work with all the great animators in PIXAR!
