The Wacom Community's first official contest ended as an surprising success and congratulations to all winners for their incredible artwork, but also to all those who participated for displaying the wealth of talent that is blooming throughout Asia Pacific. The winners represented five different countries including Pakistan, Australia, Philippines, Singapore and Korea; truly, a powerful demonstration of Asia Pacific's artistic diversity.
Nominees were first selected by a committee based on artistic merit, impact and relevance to the various categories, then voted on by not one but twenty judges throughout the Asia Pacific region to avoid bias toward any one country or artistic style. |

Again, we apologize for the technical glitch on Friday, Sept. 29th that prevent some people from submitting their artwork and we hope that everyone was able submit by the extended deadline on Wednesday, Oct. 4th. Also, we would like to discourage participants from attempting to submit more than once, and we unfortunately could no consider a few entries that were found to have been previously published. To those artists, allow us to say that we admired your artistic talent and hope you will return again!

What is Asia Pacific to me?Different lifestyles in both the urban and the rural area brought about by the rich, diverse and unique components of Asia, it could be the culture, the buildings, the environment, the people, the religions....co-untless. In my work, I try to feature both the rural and the urban lifestyle of the people. Unity in Diversity, I want to portray a joyous, harmonious atmosphere between the rural and urban peoples that Asia Pacific is made up of. And I included several prominent buildings and sceneries found all around Asia Pacific. From the Himalayas to Japan's Mount Fuji, from the Red Fort of India to the Petronas of Kuala Lumpur. And included are the many peoples of Asia as well as the presence of Western influence in the urban area. All these portray the Asian lifestyle, as a rich and colourful one, be it urban or rural.
